Welcome to North Georgia Community Players!
The North Georgia Community Players, originally known as the Community Players, was established in early 2000 with their debut production of "Fiddler on the Roof." This dedicated group of thespians aimed to create a volunteer-driven community theater to spark interest in the theatrical arts and bring stage productions to Rabun County and surrounding areas. They believed that fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts, especially the stage, would inspire creativity and strengthen communities.
For the first several years, NGCP performed in various locations without a permanent home. In 2005, however, NGCP found its true identity when they began using the historic Old Dillard School House for their productions. This pivotal moment allowed the organization to flourish and grow.
To date, the North Georgia Community Players have staged over sixty productions, including beloved classics like "Steel Magnolias," "The Sound of Music," and "The Little Mermaid."

Our Mission
The mission of The North Georgia Community Players is to develop original artists from our community and inspire all ages to explore their theatrical talent. In doing so, we will provide learning experiences in all aspects of theater and showcase local talent through stage productions for the community. It is our hope to raise appreciation of the dramatic arts and to be a cultural asset to our community.
Outreach
Every summer the players "take the show on the road" to our local assisted living/nursing home facilities where we entertain the residents with singing, dancing, and acting. They always join in the show as well. It is such a privilege and joy for us to share this time with some of our most seasoned Rabun County fans.
Scholarships
It is very important to NGCP to enrich the lives of the youth of Rabun County. One way we support teens is by awarding the annual Sue Boshart Memorial Scholarship to a student who has been active in the theater in previous years and is going on to secondary education after high school.
